I really don't want to give away any more punch. It is all documented. In fact, it is the job of the MSM to create a plausible and surprisingly erudite confusion/fog so that those who know better can carry on. written in entertaining enjoyable style.
an entire war being orchestrated out of smoke filled back-rooms, so to speak. Drink it in yourself. Enter Palast, center stage, and the fog clears, and the public are armed with knowledge. (I am trying to write this review as Palast would write it himself).
This book fills in the blanks the main stream media purposely leaves behind. cheers. But seriously, this is a MUST read. all fact.
He says this applies to Katrina, Iraq, election theft, and many other stories. He seems to have a soft spot for the Democrats, which is hard to explain based on the examples he gives. But overall, this book will explain many mysterious goings on. He does it in an entertaining way, if your idea of entertainment includes shaking with rage at the evil that powerful men do.
was so anxious to get rid of Saddam, but never mentions Israel once, not even as a minor cause. Most of the reasons we are given in the media have nothing to do with the real stories behind the scenes. There are similar omissions in the chapters on how the Republicans stole the elections of 2000 and 2004.
Diabetes: Sugar-Coated Crisis: Who Gets it, Who Profits and How to Stop itGreg Palast finds stories nobody else knows, and speaks truths that few others report. He spends a chapter trying to explain why the U.S. Palast gives us a valuable glimpse behind the curtain.
Everyone should read this book. One very positive element is his placing these horrors in the context of class war - a war by the rich against working people. He does leave some things out, however.
It exposes graft, greed, corporate manipulation, and more that will make you mad, I hope. This book names those who are in charge and how they do what they do. If you don't already know some of this stuff, prepare yourself to be disillusioned. We live in a wonderful country, and we are not in charge.
Great food for thought. Some of the things he exposes here are just jaw-dropping examples of voter fraud. This is an excellent book that pulls you in, and strongly recommended for anyone interested in the nature of democracy these days. Greg Palast is a great reporter. He's thorough, gives superb references and is a funny writer.
I would recommend The Best Democracy Money can Buy if you want to read some of his better work. Although this book can be a bit one sided (not Michael Moore one sided though) and have some very questionable sources (the document just fell out the sky and someone in my department found it) it is a great view into how the government works through the eyes of a investigative journalist. This book is another great read by Greg Palast. I love his dedication to uncovering the corruption in the government.
